Well I hit the $5K mark with a little help from all of my friends. Thanks so much for all your financial and emotional support.

I want to start adding entries at the very least every day if not more often so watch here.

Good riding all!
Least the bike is ready...

Less than one week to go...!

Today is Sunday and I leave on Friday. Everyone has been asking me if I'm excited and words can't begin to describe what I'm feeling. Excitement and awe, nervousness and anticipation. I don't look forward to the 11+ hour flight out nor the 14+ hour flight back, but the almost two weeks in between is just breathtaking to me.

I hate colds

My son had a upper respiratory infection last week and now I have it, except I just call it a cold. So along with the stuffy head and general lightheadedness there will be no more riding this week. In fact I doubt I can even go to Kol Nidre services tonight cause I doubt I can handle it.

Next week when I'm back well enough to ride I'll have to push it so I can get my stamina back up. I was going to start going to the gym this week and start a swim regimen but that will have to wait until next week now.

This week, lots of fluids, rest, and feeling sorry for myself.

Changes for my main ride

Just a few more weeks to go and my donations are coming along nicely. Thanks all very much for all the generous checks and donations. A big special thanks to Edwin for the very, very generous donation. It pushed me over the top, though I am still digging for more.

On the biking front I am thinking about changing out my 12/25 cassette for a cheater 11/29 to deal with the mountains in Israel. I can find a standard 12/27 but though my research I think an 11/29 will do me better since I'm not the strongest rider and I want to stay up with the Chalutzim group. Any other bikers out there that has any feedback on my cassette choice? My crankset is a 30/52 triple so the 30/29 should give me a good 1.0 ratio. The only problem is that I think the 11/29 will be a custom job and that might be some $$$$. Ain't nothing in life free.

Just 5 weeks to go...

Thanks so much to all of you that have contributed so far to my cause. It's much appreciated. I'm attaching a picture of most of the Atlanta riders (10 of the 17). I'm sure you can find me.
